At this year's Taiwan Design Expo, recycled materials and sustainable development unquestionably emerge as one of the most critical themes.The exhibition features a diverse array of innovative materials and applications:
(Left picture) Pineapple fibers are transformed into fabric.
Nestlé, for instance, recycles discarded aluminum capsules to create exquisite aluminum accessory box (this design is also nominated for this year's Taiwan Golden Pin Design Award).
Surplus aluminum extrusions from construction materials are repurposed into stylish table lamps.
Shattered pottery is ground into powder for the production of items like chess sets, to name just a few examples.
With Earth's resources being finite, figuring out how to achieve sustainable development is a direction we must continuously strive towards.
